Film
Students in the Film major at Berkeley are taught to think historically, theoretically, and analytically about a wide range of cinematic forms. The core of the major includes a sequence on film history as well as courses on the documentary, avant-garde film, and film theory. Elective courses are offered within the department and in cooperation with a variety of disciplines. Although film production is not a focus of this program, some hands-on production is possible. Internship opportunities are available with local film and video production companies.
